Belated Thank Yous

A belated “Thank you very much” goes out to our friends and supporters at St Michael’s Church, Camberley and St Paul’s Church, Camberley for generously hosting the recent community lunches which some of our members were able to attend. Your kindness is ever appreciated on this (slightly grey) Good Friday and we wish you all the best on this most important weekend in your calendars!

Service uptake

From now on we are aiming to send out a monthly update on uptake of our services but, for the time being, I can let you know that from July to December last year, our volunteer drivers undertook 2013 journeys and our handyman carried out 498 jobs. That’s an increase on the first half of the year so good news. Please continue to spread the word people!

Wonderful raffle by iPSL

There are so many lovely people out there willing to help!

iPSL (Intelligent Processing Solutions Limited, based in Watchmoor Park) have recently held a raffle for Camberley Care Trust and raised a princely sum of almost £100 for us through their efforts.

Thank you very much to everybody involved in this from all of us at Camberley Care.

Winner of Charity of the Month – Waitrose Sandhurst

In December Camberley Care Trust won Waitrose Sandhurst’s Charity of the Month and have been able to collect a cheque for £210. Thank you to everyone who voted for us via their token system. It is an honour to receive this award and be able to put the funds to good use continuing to provide subsidised transport and handyman services for the Surrey Heath area 🙂

Thank you to High Cross Church and Michael Gove

Many thanks to High Cross Church for hosting a lunch that Robin Perry and Peter Close were able to attend. Our local Constituency MP, Michael Gove, was also able to attend and gave a very positive speech about improved rail services to London (among other things). Thank you again to the church for hosting and to Michael Gove for his continued support of Surrey Heath.

Thank you letter received

It is so lovely to receive recognition of the help our team is able to provide. Thank you very much to Maureen Garrett for taking the time to send us this kind letter:

Dear Joan,

I have been using your wonderful service for about a year, much more frequently recently. I would like to say a big “THANK YOU” for this fantastic service. It starts with the warmth in the voices answering the phone and one knows that help will be given. Every driver who has assisted me has been kind and courteous. Usually I’ve had a lovely chat.

My grateful thanks to all your volunteers.
Yours sincerely,

Maureen Garrett.

Thank YOU Maureen for your kind words. We hope to be able to continue working with you.

Social Media

We are now up and running on Facebook and Twitter both of which can be accessed from our website. We are gathering “likes “ so do please help us to increase the numbers. We are indebted to Claire Williams, who is our volunteer social media co-ordinator for introducing us to the world of social media which we believe will considerably increase our profile and standing. Indeed, it is likely that we will in future, post items of news on Facebook  so if you find that What’s New appears out of date do please  visit us on Facebook where you will see our latest news as well as discussion and comment.
