Join our Team

Camberley Care Trust provides elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community with the practical help they need to live safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible via its volunteer car service.

A charitable organisation, powered by volunteers and run by a Board of volunteer Trustees, we have been caring for and providing help to residents in Camberley and Frimley for more than 40 years. 

We currently have a vacancy for someone with a little time to spare and a belief in the services we provide, to join our Board of Trustees and assume responsibility for Secretary duties. 

The main Secretary duties include:

  • Planning meeting dates, booking rooms, sending out notifications, minutes and other papers.
  • Drawing up agendas, together with the Chair.
  • Minute committee meetings, typing up minutes, sending to Chair for input and approval, issuing minutes to the Board.
  • Accurately record decisions and actions in the minutes.

Currently the Board of Trustees meets every 6 to 8 weeks, and each meeting lasts approximately two hours. We tend to meet on a Tuesday morning, although this can be flexible, and the meetings take place at the Camberley Library.    

This is a completely voluntary, unpaid role but, given the increasing levels of support Camberley Care Trust provides to the local community, is highly rewarding and satisfying. This position would particularly suit someone who is retired or semi-retired.

Why Volunteer?

Camberley Care is a charitable organisation powered by volunteers who have established a reputation for providing a high standard of service to elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of our community.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. They often speak of the sense of satisfaction that their volunteering brings, seeing how their work directly contributes towards improving the well-being of others and the communities they live in.

Success breeds success and there is an increasing demand for our services meaning that we are always looking for more people who can volunteer some time, even if only one hour each week to help deliver our charitable service.

Our volunteers gain much satisfaction from knowing that whatever their individual role, they are contributing to the overall success of Camberley Care and ultimately helping the elderly, disabled and vulnerable stay safe and enjoy independent living at home.

Volunteer drivers, who are all Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) cleared before working for us, are entitled to reimbursement of out of pocket expenses, as detailed in our volunteer policy and agreements.

In providing our service to support independent living for local elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community, volunteers will be tasked with duties which give due consideration for personal preference.

We will adequately brief our volunteers about the requirements and expectations for all jobs, with the objective of doing so head of job allocation.
